His father, Hsiao Yu-Mei was an important cimposer in modern Chian, In-spired by his learning of modern arts with Lee Chung-sheng , he founded the "Ton Fan Group" in 1956, and was instrumental in bringing modern paintings of Taiwan into internations. 1961. he sponsored international Punto Exercise, and Joined various impotant arts activities in Europe. Hsiao was previously engaged by the national arts in-stitutes in United stated and is currently the Director of the Graduate School of Styling Arts Re-search, Tainan Arts College. Since 1957 ,he has been invited to numerous internationl and national solo exhibitions including the Pittsburg International Arts Exhibition in USA ; Sao Paolo Biennial Exhibition of Brazil Palace International Contrmporay Arts Ex-hibitio ns in Paris . He has resided in ltaly for over a decade and won various international arts awards. His artworks are in the collections of important art museum , including New Y ork Modern Fine Arts Mu-Seum, Metropolitan Museum and various art muse-ums in ltaly, Spain, Taiwan, Central America and South America. He has published a Total of 16 indi-vidal painting albums , in 1977 , he was invited to be a member of the selection committe at the Bi-annual Exhibition of Venice at the Taiwan Museum.
